Hi , is it ok to apply to multiple courses in the same university like MS in CS, Stat or mathematics. Will it go against me ? Has anybody fone this before ?

it wouldn't go agaisnt you, infact I doubt if they'll even know that you've applied for multiple courses. and if nothing else, it just shows you are seriously considering the university. I had attended an event by ASU and they had advices computer science students to apply for multiple similar courses. some universities require only one application and they automatically consider you for other similar programs with lower criteria if they think you'll be better fit there. if the university allows you to submit multiple applications, it sure wouldnt go against you.

I applied to iowa state for 3 programs .since not many people apply there and looking at my profile i donot see any reason for rejection. So i thought this may be the reason
